Classes

Students must register and pay in advance. All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before class time for a refund. All classes include up to $10 worth of supplies, unless otherwise stated. This supply allowance is for class materials only.

March Classes

MAKING CLASPS & EARWIRES – Thurs., March 4^th, 6 pm. Learn how to make your own clasps, earwires & headpins out of sterling, gold-filled or copper wire. Taught by Trude Spillane. Beg.-Int. $25

METALSMITHING - BASICS OF SOLDERING – Mon., Mar. 8^th, 6-8:30 pm Students will learn the basic chemistry and set-up for soldering small items and how to set up a minimal soldering operation for under $100. Peter Senesac will explain solders, fluxes, pickling acids and fire scale as well as annealing and work hardening. Peter will also give demos and students will solder jump rings during the first session. $40 (Save $20 and take Beyond Basics of Soldering also for a total of $60)

SCULPTED WIRE-WRAPPED PEN-DANT –    Tues., March 9^th, 6 pm. Use various gauges of wire and an unusually shaped stone, cabochon or other object to sculpt a lovely wearable pendant. Taught by Trude Spillane. Int. $25

BASIC EARRING – Wed., March 10^th, 6pm. Learn the basics of earring-making using headpins, wire and beads. Create several pairs of lovely earrings. Beg.-Int. $20

BEYOND BASICS OF SOLDERING – Thurs., March 11^th, 6-8:30 pm. This metalsmithing class with Peter Senesac covers the use of various torches, types of joins, appliqué’, sheet and wire. Students will have tech samples & handouts for future reference and there will be hands-on practice. This is a great preliminary class if you want to take other metalsmithing classes or if you are thinking about setting up your own studio. Lots of opportunity to ask questions and solve problems. $40 (Save $20 and take Basics of Soldering also for a total of $60)

ELIZABETHAN ELEGANCE BRACE-LET – NEW CLASS!! Sat., March 13^th, 10:30 am. Using a variation of the right angle weave, create a lovely bracelet using Swarovski glass pearls and seedbeads. Looks hard, but it’s not!! Taught by Chrissy Swenson. Beg.-Int. $30

METALSMITHING– CABOCHON SET PENDANT - 2 sessions – Mon., March 15^th & Thurs., March 18^th, 6-8:30 pm. This class will focus on soldering and setting a cabochon stone. Texturing, drilling, filing, sawing and stone setting will be covered. Everyone will make a pendant. A basic soldering class is a suggested pre-requisite. Taught by Peter Senesac. $60 (Supplies not included, but are available for purchase)

EMBELLISHED WIRE CUFF – Tues., March 16^th, 6 pm. Create a one-of-a-kind cuff bracelet with various gauges of wire and assorted beads. Taught by Trude Spillane. Int-Adv. $30

BASIC NECKLACE – Wed., March 17^th, 6pm. A wonderful beginner’s class to learn about cords, clasps, and putting it all together! Everyone will make a necklace. Beginner $20

INTENTIONAL JEWELRY – Sun., March 21^st, 2-4 pm. NEW CLASS! Jewelry can be both beautiful and beneficial. Celebrate the beginning of spring by making your own “intentional” bracelet while exploring the beneficial qualities of colors and gemstones. This class will also focus on creating positive intentions and discovering which colors and gemstones excite & inspire you! Taught by Valerie Rosenkrantz. Beg.-Int. $25

METALSMITHING – SETTING LARGER STONES WITH OPEN BACKS – Two sessions, Mon. March 22^nd & Thurs., March 25^th, 6-8:30 pm. This class will focus on making an open back bezel and setting a cabochon stone. This is a great technique for glass, shell, or larger stones. Basics of soldering class is a good pre-requisite. Taught by Peter Senesac. Int.-Adv. $60 (supplies not included but available for purchase)

CURVED WIRE EARRINGS – Tues., March 23^rd, 6 pm.   Make very cute dangly wire earrings using sterling or gold-filled wire and a few beads. Taught by Trude Spillane. Beg.-int. $25

KNOTTING GEMS & PEARLS – Wed., March 24^th, 6pm. Learn the fine art of knotting between beads for a beautiful, professional necklace. Intermediate $25

STAMPED & TEXTURED EARRINGS – Mon., March 29^th, 6 pm. Learn how to make earrings with copper or sterling sheet and embellish with stamping, hammering, and texturing. Requires no soldering. Taught by Kathy Swift. Beg.-Int. $30 (materials not included, but available for purchase)

CHAIN, WIRE & BEADS NECKLACE – Wed., March 31^st, 6 pm. Learn how to connect beads to chain and make a beautiful necklace. Can be made short or long, you decide! Beg.-Int. $25

Peter Senesac will help you with design, drilling, texturing, sawing & filing sheet and wire to make a necklace, bracelet, earrings, - you decide! $60 (supplies not included but available for purchase)

ART CLAY PENDANT – 2 sessions, Tues. & Wed.., April 6^th & 7^th, 6 pm. Discover the fun of working with the incredible art clay and make a beautiful pendant of fine silver using different types of decorative techniques! Taught by Trude Spillane. All skill levels. $60 (all supplies included)

VICTORIAN PEARL LACE BRACELET – NEW CLASS!! Sat., April 10^th, 10:30 am. Learn how to make a beautiful reversible bracelet using seedbeads and Swarovski crystal. Taught by Chrissy Swenson. Beg.-Int. $30

RIVETED METAL EARRINGS – Mon., April 12^th, 6pm. Learn how to make great earrings with silver, brass, and/or copper. No soldering – it uses rivets! Different techniques will be covered. Taught by Kathy Swift. Beg.-Int. $35 (supplies not included, but available for purchase)

WIRE FLOWER BRACELET Tues., April 13^th, 6 pm. Create beautiful flowers of beads and wire and connect into a lovely bracelet. Taught by Trude Spillane. Beg.-Int. $25

GLASS BEADMAKING – Sat., April 17^th, 10:30 am. In this all day workshop, learn the basics of making glass beads using glass rods and a torch. Decorative techniques will also be covered. Everyone will make several beads and learn a lot about this age old craft. Taught by area beadmaker Jackie Knabel. Beg.-Int. $125 (all supplies included)

VIKING KNITTING BRACELET - Sun, April 18^th, 12:30 pm. Using a dowel and wire, create a “knitted” tube and then pull thru a draw plate for a flawless tightly woven bracelet! Beg.-Int. Taught by Rhonda Bergman. $35 (includes some supplies)

GLASS FUSING – Sat., April 24^th, 10:30 am. Join Joanne Alarid and create beautiful pendants with glass! Learn how to tack fuse, full fuse, and drill. All students will make several pendants. This class will be about 6 hours long. All levels. $85 (all supplies included)

METALSMITHING – STONE SETTING IN A RING - 2 sessions – Mon., April 26^th & Thurs., April 29^th, 6-8:30 pm. Learn to make a simple ring with a bezel set cabochon stone. Learn texturing, drilling, filing, sawing & stone setting techniques. Taught by Peter Senesac. $60 All skill levels. (Supplies not included, but are available for purchase)
