JANUARY CLASSES
CLASS PROCEDURES
Students must register and pay in advance. All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before class time for a refund. All classes include up to $10 worth of supplies, unless otherwise stated. This supply allowance can be used for class materials only.
 INTERMEDIATE ART CLAY PENDANT – Tues. & Thurs., Jan. 6th & 8th, 6 pm. Further explore the versatility of this exciting medium! Using glass, cz, prong settings and sculptural techniques, create a fabulous pendant. For those who have taken a beginner’s art clay or PMC class only. Taught by Trude Spillane. $60 (some supplies included)
BASIC NECKLACE – Wed., Jan. 7th, 6 pm. A wonderful beginner’s class to learn about cords, clasps, and putting it all together! Everyone will make a necklace. Beg. $20
METALSMITHING - BASICS OF SOLDERING – 2 evening, Mon, Jan. 12th & Thurs., Jan. 15th. 6-8:30 pm. This class deals with all the details of soldering. Discuss and use various torches and learn several different types of joints. Learn about solders, fluxes, & pickling acids. There is no set project, but you will make tech samples. A great beginner’s class. Taught by Peter Senesac. $60 (supplies not included but are available for purchase)
FREEFORM WIRE-WRAPPED PENDANT –Tues., Jan. 13th, 6 pm. Create a beautiful pendant with a very flowing, professional style. All levels. $25
BASIC EARRING – Wed., Jan. 14th, 6pm,. Learn the basics of earring-making using headpins, wire and beads. Create several pairs of lovely earrings. Beg.-Int. $20
OGLALA BUTTERFLY BRACELET – Sat., Jan. 17th, 10:30 am. New Class! The Oglala Butterfly stitch is a simple stitch with endless possibilities. Create this beautiful but casual seedbead bracelet. Great beginner class! Taught by Christy Nicholas. $35
METALSMITHING – MAKE A RING – 2 evenings, Mon. Jan. 19th & Thurs., Jan. 22nd, 6-8:30 pm. Students will make a band without stones. Embellishment techniques such as stamping, piercing, drilling, and appliqué’. Taught by Peter Senesac. $60 (supplies not included but are available for purchase)
WIRE-WRAPPED RING WITH A BEAD – Tues., Jan. 20th, 6 pm. Create a pretty ring using simple wire-wrapping techniques and a focal bead. Taught by Trude Spillane. $25
CHAIN, WIRE & BEADS NECKLACE Wed., Jan. 21st, 6 pm. – Learn how to connect beads to chain and make a beautiful necklace. Can be made short or long, you decide! Beg.-Int. $25
METALSMITHING – SETTING LARGER STONES WITH OPEN BACKS – Two sessions, Mon. Jan. 26th & Thurs., Jan. 29th, 6-8:30 pm. This class will focus on making an open back bezel and setting a cabochon stone. We will use a large cabbed stone, found stone or other object and learn basic soldering and stone setting. The final piece will be reversible! Taught by Peter Senesac. Int.-Adv. $60 (supplies not included but available for purchase)
WIRE WRAPPED BEADED BANGLE – Tues., Jan. 27th, 6 pm. These beautiful bracelets are made with sterling or gold-filled wire and beads encircling the entire bracelet. A great beginner wire wrapping class. $25
KNOTTING GEMS & PEARLS – Wed., Jan. 28th, 6 pm. Learn the fine art of knotting between beads for a beautiful, professional necklace. Intermediate $25
GLASS FUSING – Sa.t, Jan. 31st., 10:30 am. A great beginner’s class! Join Joanne Alarid and create beautiful objects with glass! Learn how to tack fuse, full fuse, and drill. All students will make a suncatcher and a pendant. This class will be about 6 hours long. All levels. $85 (all supplies included)
