3/50 Project

Have you noticed in some of your favorite stores’ windows a flyer for the 3/50 project? The 3/50 project is a growing movement to help save small businesses from disappearing in the wake of the big box store. They ask for a commitment from working folks to spend $50 per month at 3 small independently owned stores.

Small independent businesses make up a huge portion of our national economy. And locally 68% of each dollar you spend at an independent store stays in the community as opposed to 43% of each dollar spent in a large chain store.

Also, small businesses have the flexibility of carrying the products that are locally made or grown, the way we and our neighbors sell items made by local artisans, and how some of our smaller grocery stores sell locally grown produce. This helps keep our local economy vibrant and our bodies and souls healthy!

We, along with some of our neighbors, have joined the 3/50 project as a participating business and urge you to go online to the 3/50 project website to learn more. There is a lot of great information at this site. Please help spread awareness and support your locally owned businesses!

Attention all sales tax exempt customers! We need a copy of your resale certificate for 2010 on file.  Please bring a copy on your next visit or fax it to us at 352-379-4870. You can also email it to Rhonda@avalonbeadstore.com
